Services were held August 16 for Ian Garrett, 42, who passed away prematurely July 19, 2012. Ian was born and raised in the Sunnyslope area of Phoenix. He graduated from Sunnyslope High School, where he earned the Automotive Student of the Year award. During his youth, Ian was an avid bicyclist, using his mechanical knowledge and skills to maintain his bike for and during his long bike rides. Ian continued his love of all things mechanical by working in the auto parts industry. Ian will always be remembered as the little guy who thought diapers were hats, who took things apart to see how they worked, and who thought his aunt Sally was only his and was jealous of her boyfriend. Ian is survived by his father, Bill, and his partner Jim; mother Cathie, and her partner John; aunts Sally and her husband Jim, Lorna and her husband Amir, Carol and her partner Terry; uncles Jimmy and John; and cousins Alicia, Vincent, Daniel, Nicole, Summer, Jonathon and Aermon. Remembrances can be made on Muchloved.com or by donating to the Arizona Humane Society via ‘Donate Online’in memory of Ian Garrett.
